Leads Lean and transactional Six Sigma projects to reduce waste, improve cycle time and solve business process related quality problems.
Operations - Leans out processes from the supplier thru manufacturing/service thru to distribution to reduce waste. Ensures high productivity, low cycle times, reduced cost and high quality while maintaining availability and ensuring a positive Customer experience.
Business Process - Improves business (non-manufacturing) processes to reduce non-value-add activity, increase productivity, accelerating throughput and achieving high levels of quality while improving the Customer experience.
Leads large and medium sized projects as well as facilitating continual improvement through employee engagement at all levels. Utilizing knowledge of the eight wastes, identifies processes for improvement, assesses areas of opportunity for reducing waste, proposes leaner methods and processes and drives their successful implementation. Establishes appropriate controls, metrics and monitoring processes to ensure that the improvements are successful in the long term and to quantify the benefits of the improvements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Deploys Lean and other process improvement methodologies across the organization.
Leads/participates in Lean and other process change projects, delivering significant quantifiable operational improvement and financial benefits across the organization.
Coaches and trains others in Lean tools and methods.
Communicates with and instructs managers, supervisors and staff in leading process change and in the use and value of continual process improvement.
Partners with management teams to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
Quantifies potential and actual benefits in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
Prepares summaries and reports on work activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to and models the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles.
## Qualifications
EDUCATION :
Bachelor's of Administration or Science degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE :
Experience leading at least 2 substantial Lean deployments.
Previous experience leading Value Stream Assessments and Rapid Improvement Events (Iaka Kaizen Blitz events).
Experience across a variety of functional disciplines.
Have used majority of tools, and projects had substantial level of complexity.
Experience teaching Lean and Problem Solving topics.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Understanding and experience with standard lean tools such as:
voice of the customer, SIPOC, standing in the circle, value stream mapping, spaghetti maps and process flow diagrams
kanbans, supermarkets and point of use materials
water spiders, cell layouts, cross-training methods, batch reduction, single piece flow and demand pull
cycle time, queue time and takt time calculations and applications
line balancing, set-up reduction, identifying non-value-add tasks and error-proofing
standardized work, visual workplace and 5S
Understanding and experience with basic statistical tools such as SPC, confidence intervals and basic multi-factor testing and graphical analysis techniques.
Understanding and experience with basic Cost of Poor Quality breakdowns,. Can differentiate between hard cost savings, cost avoidance, customer experience, productivity, capacity and delivery improvements in quantifiable terms. Metric and dashboard development.
Understanding and experience with transactional problem solving methods such as Apollo, sequence of events, Five Whys and Y-X. Ability to develop risk assessments and verification/ validation plans for process changes.
Demonstrated ability and desire to lead change.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
Objective, open-minded, out-of-the-box thinker and change agent.
Ability to disassociate past practice and visualize and implement change along with the team in the face of obstacles.
Results and action-oriented; organized; ability to deal with ambiguity; and good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as a team player with enthusiasm.
Ability to talk candidly and openly to affect and influence front line personnel
Willingness to travel.
Computer skills, including MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint, statistical software such as JMP or Minitab a plus. Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive sitting and computer use.
Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.
May be required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus . Intricate work associated with small parts that require good eyesight and eye/hand coordination.
Hearing acuity sufficient to effectively communicate via telephone and in person.
Ability to communicate verbally on phone and in person.
Fluency in the English language, if required in the location.
Travel may be required depending on position and regional location.
Work with exposed moving electro-mechanical parts.
Work with exposed electrical power requiring proper protective equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office, engineering lab and industrial environments requiring safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), clean room and other equipment. Additional work with electrical solder and fluxes, exposure to supplier assembly processes using chemicals, with machinery noise.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
