Responsibilities:

Summary: Uses a strategically focused approach to prospecting and developing profitable new customers. Assists Marketing Associates with Territory/Street growth by penetrating hi-low accounts.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand, practice and fully utilize the Relationship Manager concept.
Ability to prospect and cold call at the expert level.
Coordinate layering of relationships with our customers for complete customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Coordinate with District Sales Managers and Sysco 360 to identify high potential TRS top prospects.
Establish good working relationship with all departments at Sysco Northern New England.
Understand the pricing and profitability of each account and their contribution to pre-tax earnings.
Open doors in accounts with greatest potential while providing team support and building long lasting relationships.
Create a smooth transition for the customer and MA as new business is transitioned to the Marketing Associate.
Educate and promote resources; I Care partners, Menu Analysis, Sysco Brand. Bring resources to bear in building business with targeted accounts.
Responds promptly to all customer needs.
Can conduct a professional and first-class customer field visit.
Coordinate business reviews with newly acquired customers to ensure customer satisfaction and account profitability.
Understand our customers' business and provide our customers with value added solutions through products, services, tools and information that will meet their business needs and ensure their success.
Excellent knowledge of customer base, sales opportunities, and familiarity with Sysco NNE market place.
Create and implement a business development plan.
Maintain a prospect list of target accounts by Region, by District, to include prospective customers and Hi/Lo customers.
Spends 20% of time identifying / fact finding / quantifying / qualifying / maintaining / updating leads
Spends 70% of time with potential customers and newly acquired customers.
Strategize and coordinate with internal Sysco resources.
Spends 10% of time with administrative functions such as paperwork, e-mail, setting up appointments, etc.
Follows all Food Safe Handling guidelines for product safety, legality and quality.
Support, monitor, track progress on top prospects
Report progress in 360. Maintain and update weekly reporting
Monitor districts top prospect list with specific plan of action for each top prospect
Open, sell and continue to penetrate new accounts opened of the top prospect list until Marketing Associate transaction is complete.
Knowledge of our customer base and sales opportunities within specified market place.
Support sales on Territory Blitz's, Regional Shows, Chef dinners, Customer workshops etc. (within your geographic area)
Attend district meetings and support the District Sales Managers in Business Resource related trainings.
Support District Sales Managers with trainings on Business Resource Tools (i.e. Sysco Counts, Menu Development, Server Trainings, Creative Marketing, etc.)
Communicate all personally developed programs and train team members.

Qualifications Highly self motivated and goal oriented person. Great at follow-up and time management skills. Should display and maintain a teamwork attitude at all times.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Business and (5+) years minimum industry experience preferred or a High School diploma or equivalent with (10+) years industry experience . Management experience a plus. A thorough working knowledge of Sysco and the Industry. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Industry Marketing experience preferred.
Technical Skills Restaurant
sales background, restaurant operations knowledge, knowledge of Sysco products/services; in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Sysco (finance, purchasing, credit, operations), understands menu analysis, strategizes information, project management skills; ability to learn systems/ technology; computer skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook), ability to effectively prepare proposals. Desktop Publishing experience preferred.
Soft Skills Communication (listening, speaking and presentation skills), planning and organization, follow-up, initiative, work standards, sales ability/persuasiveness, meeting leadership, negotiation, collaboration, building partnerships, ability to learn.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
