Be a part of idea generation and bring to market strategies for cutting edge products that improve animal health by strengthening the bonds between veterinarians, pets and pet owners.
This position is involved with supporting product design, market segmentation, global commercial launch, maintenance and growth of new products. Provide leadership and support of marketing goals and strategies on new product development projects from feasibility through launch. Responsibilities include product marketing and management of one or more new and existing products within the VetLab Chemistry Product team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (organize into categories; new product development; market growth)
_New Product Development_
Responsible for marketing/commercial deliverables in new product development process.
Involved in the creation of the product roadmap and/or product positioning which includes creating, updating and maintaining the marketing materials and supporting campaigns, identifying and selecting marketing opportunities, and developing communication strategies
Plan/lead/execute marketing activities and projects through all phases of product development. Create project plans, determine project teams, gather necessary resources and implement projects. Manage projects, report on progress and ensure successful conclusions.
Communicate with customers to gain feedback on user experiences and opportunities. Ensure correct features are identified, taking into account customers, sales, finance, related lines of business and others. Prioritize and negotiate to build best possible set of features to be included and developed in the new products.
_Commercial Leadership_
Facilitate market research and coordinate the review of new ideas and recommendations, concept and design development, project management, and market introduction.
Utilize market segmentation strategies with marketing managers to clearly define customer's current requirements and their future needs to determine commercial potential.
Identify customer needs and market trends. Research competitor products and maintain competitive comparisons and evaluations.
Assist in the creation of product profiles, competitive analysis, presentations, demos, white papers, and product updates for organizational marketing materials.
Promote/train product advantages and benefits to IDEXX employees, key vendors and others.
_Product Management_
Build and maintain knowledge of Company products and services as well as changes and developments in the industry affecting work activities. May participate in outside industry groups and forums related to business activities.
Coordinate with marketing, engineering, research and development, sales, finance and others to manage projects and ensure overall product success.
May mentor, train and coach others.
May assign work, monitor activities, evaluate performance and manage escalated/critical issues. Support the development and management of department policies and procedures.
Responsible for working within, and leading, cross-functional commercial teams to assist in the development of financial models and pricing strategies of assigned product areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
## Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in sciences or business required
MBA preferred
4 - 6 + years of industry and product marketing experience
2-3 years veterinary and/or medical experience preferred
Science background preferred
Self-directed and innovative leader that can communicate effectively in a highly matrixed work environment
General knowledge/experience with healthcare/diagnostic technologies
Prior experience with or the ability to demonstrate understanding of marketing and product management, including:
Product development and commercial launch
Product marketing (product positioning, promotion, pricing, placement, forecasting)Business Acumen (
Ability to lead and energize cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and make critical decisions
Progress toward the ability to manage highly complex product sets and organizational decisions at the senior levels within this job family
Excellent communication and influencing skills to gain commitment and support for decisions and motivate the organization to support the product line
Strong/advanced presentation skills; ability to present and explain product information to all audiences
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Extensive sitting, phone and computer use
Some travel required
Collaborative office environment (Westbrook, ME)
Normal office noise level
Frequent walking between meeting room locations

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
