IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Senior Application Developer I to work in Westbrook, Maine. The Senior Application Developer I is responsible for building computer applications to meet business informational needs and requirements; designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs based on technical configurations developed by analysts and projects teams; estimating and tracking time required to complete work for project budgeting and financial tracking; supporting and troubleshooting existing applications; evaluating and analyzing business requirements for new systems and system changes; developing program designs to meet technical configurations, ensuring that resulting systems will operate efficiently and reliably; understanding business function supported by the application to encompass within design framework; ensuring design integrates with other related systems; coding programs using various programming languages as appropriate; testing and debugging programs to finalize and ensure smooth operation; documenting program design, coding and other details to guide others in application development, use and maintenance; supporting, updating and maintaining existing systems in response to business needs, system problems or other factors; coordinating with project teams to design, code, test and document system changes; coordinating with project team members to define application requirements; identifying business needs, assessing available technologies and developing and presenting solutions; and providing a high level of customer service, partnering with end users in the resolution of problems or in deployment of new applications. More specifically, the Senior Application Developer I is responsible as a lead for designing, developing, implementing, trouble shooting and maintaining web sites, internet based applications, SAP ERP based applications, Middleware applications and applications in other technologies. Responsibilities also include defining customer requirements and system interfaces, assessing available technologies, and developing and presenting solutions.
## Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and five years prior experience. Prior experience must include experience working with system/application development; experience in PORTAL, JAVA, ABAP and SAP ERP with Procedural and Object Oriented programming techniques; and experience with workbench tools, Web Dynpro, enhancement, web services and ADOBE/Smart forms/SAPScript Forms. Qualified candidates must have experience in developing business applications and integrating them to other solutions; the design and development of multiple SAP ERP functional areas, experience with major Database Management Systems; and experience with integrating SAP frontend systems with various backend solutions.
